Dr. Colin Teo

Biography

Urologists are doctors who treat diseases of the urinary tract in both males and females. A primary care physician may refer you to a urologist if you’re having problems with your urinary tract, kidneys, or bladder. Urologists also help males manage issues with their reproductive system.

Dr. Teo is best known for treating urinary stone diseases with shockwave treatments, endoscopic laser equipment, and other endourology techniques. He is also skilled in treating urological cancers found in the kidney, prostate, bladder, and male genitalia through laparoscopic and robotic key-hole surgery. His methods include a combination of pharmacology, minimally invasive surgery, and multimodality therapy. Dr. Teo has a passionate practice devoted to men’s health, andrology, and subfertility, with a strong foundation in general urology treating Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), overactive bladder, and inguinal hernia.

Sought after for his sincerity, friendliness, and compassion, Dr. Teo has the innate ability to put his patients at ease, such as by conducting his consultations in local dialects.

Dr. Teo completed his urology advanced surgical training in the Singapore General Hospital Uro Centre. He received his Fellowship in Endourology (stones/laparoscopy/cancer) & Andrology (men’s health/fertility) in St James’ Hospital in the United Kingdom and completed his Senior HMDP in Advanced Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgery in Keck Institute of Urology, University of Southern California (USC).

He is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, and has a Master of Medicine Degree in Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, and a European Board-certified Urologist.

Dr. Teo started his medical career through a Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) medical scholarship, graduating from the National University of Singapore, and was commissioned as a Sword-of-Honour officer. Dr. Teo is active in humanitarian missions and was granted the Singapore Healthcare Humanitarian Award in 2017.

Always stepping up to teach and serve, he is the re-elected President of the Society for Men's Health of Singapore; Urology Residency Advisory Committee Member & Exit Examiner; Council Member of the Chapter of Urologists, College of Surgeons; Appointed NUS Yong Loo Lin's School of Medicine Adjunct Asst Professor & MBBS examiner; Invited Founding Member of the Robotic Surgery Society of Singapore; Invited Founding Member in the newly formed Androgen Society; Member of the Asian Society for Female Urology, Society for Continence Singapore, Endourological Society, International & Asia-Pacific Society for Sexual Medicine, and an invited faculty in multiple international and regional conferences.
