Dr. Kok Wai Leong

Biography

A dermatologist is a doctor who specializes in conditions involving the skin, hair, and nails. A dermatologist can identify and treat more than 3,000 conditions. These conditions include eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer, among many others.

Dr Kok Wai Leong’s treatment philosophy is personalized and holistic patient care. He strongly believes that effective treatment can only be achieved by understanding the individual needs of every patient. Prior to joining Dermatology & Surgery Clinic, Dr Kok was a visiting consultant at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and at the National Skin Centre. He is experienced in a wide array of therapeutic modalities, including biologic therapy and phototherapy for complex cases of severe eczema and psoriasis. He also previously practiced as a dermatologist and chairman of the dermatology medical board in the Military Medicine Institute of the Singapore Armed Forces. He is proficient in the management of occupational-related skin diseases and still continues to serve as a visiting consultant of dermatology with the military.

Dr Kok has a keen interest in clinical research and his work has been presented in regional and international meetings. He has scientific publications in distinguished peer-reviewed journals, and is a reviewer for international journals. He was a clinical tutor with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University Singapore and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University and has received an award in teaching, in recognition of his efforts in education. Dr Kok has also accrued accolades in service excellence and clinical quality, which is testament to his commitment to building strong doctor-patient relationships.

Dr Kok is a member of the Dermatological Society of Singapore, the Chapter of Dermatology, College of Physicians (Singapore), Asian Society of Paediatric Dermatology, American Academy of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (Dermatology).
