Biography

Gynecologists and obstetricians are both medical doctors who are specifically trained in the treatment of the uterus, vagina, and general reproductive system. Gynecologists specialize in the standard care for the reproductive system. Obstetricians, on the other hand, specialize in all aspects of pregnancy, from prenatal to after delivery.

Dr Low Wen Yong Brenda is a consultant obstetrician and gynecologist at Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore. Her clinical preferences include menopausal control, laparoscopic surgery for women’s problems, and gynecological conditions such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, and irregular Pap smears.

Dr Low Wen Yong Brenda graduated from National University of Singapore in 1988, with distinctions in Medicine and Surgery. She became a member of The Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1996 and a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore (O&G) in 1999.

Dr Low Wen Yong Brenda completed her O&G training as a physician at KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital, one of Southeast Asia’s busiest maternity and women’s hospitals. She has more than 10 years of practice and teaching experience. As a Consultant at KK Hospital, Dr Low treated patients in various aspects of O&G including management and treatment of gynecological conditions (including endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, pelvic/genital infections, and others), Pap smear anomalies, colposcopy, fertility challenges and treatment, reproductive medicine, maternal fetal medicine, urogynaecology and gynecological oncology.

She also skilled in Minimally Invasive (Laparoscopic) Surgery and has a special interest in Menopause management. For the latter, she played a significant role in organizing the Menopause Department in KK Hospital. She left KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital for private practice in 2003.

Dr Low’s pleasant disposition has won several Certificates of Service Commendation from KK Hospital and the Ministry of Health. She is a member of the Singapore Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, the Asia Pacific Menopause Federation, and the Singapore Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. She was also nominated as a “Model Worker” in 1999, and “Service from the Heart” 3 Start Award in 2000
